Introduction to Cold Game Workshop

For handlers interested in working their dogs on a shoot

50 British pounds
Willett Road

Service Description

This 2 hour workshop will introduce your gundog to cold game in a structured manner. Introducing dogs to game in an ad-hoc manner or, even worse, on a shoot, can result in dogs that get over-aroused and/or overwhelmed and are unable to contain their emotions. By introducing game away from the noise and excitement of a shoot, we reduce the arousal level for our dogs and remove the pressure of having to "perform" for both handler and dog. In this workshop in addition to introducing game we will look at how a shoot works, the different jobs of both handlers and dogs, how to handle game and how to progress after the workshop. This course is only open to those who have been training with Fundog Gundog. It is not advised to bring a young dog (under 12 months) as exposure too early can cause problems later on. Please email if you have any concerns or questions. philippa@fundoggundog.com Spaces limited to 4 dogs.
